Food for Thought – Surviving and Thriving #3

Part 3 – How does the message of “The Good News that We are Not Alone” Resonate during this time of our lives?     Answer these questions in your journal and on the community webpage.  We will discuss them during our Zoom Call scheduled for September 30th at 7 pm

  • While our physical, emotional, home and work lives have been interrupted and changed by the pandemic, how has your relationship with God changed?
  • On HEC Weekends we speak about how God is with us … how is he with us during this pandemic?
  • Have you felt God’s grace during this time?  Or do you feel more distant from God?
  • Reflect on the following passages and share your thoughts:

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”  Isaiah 41:10

“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, the Holy Spirit,  whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and within you.”       John 14:16-17

These scriptures have become important to me over the last months. I have become more committed to a regular prayer life which has born fruits. I have been giving mtsek quiet time just after waking and before sleeping to ‘ Be still and know that I am God’ …to contemplate Jesus’s closeness and the comfort of relaxing into his embrasing comfort. I seek the companionship of God more and try to do each little thing as though I was doing it for Jesus.
